The Hero Guy’s No Spoiler Review
Article by Brandon the Hero Guy
Spider-Man No Way Home is the 24th movie in the MCU it’s written by Erik Sommers and directed by Jon Watts it stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, William Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Thomas Haden Church and J.K. Simmons.
This movie takes place after the events of Far from Home, after Peter’s identity is revealed to the world by Mysterio and Jameson. This causes Peter’s life to crumble; not just his, but his loved ones as well, putting targets on them as well prompting Peter to ask for the assistance of Dr. Strange. Peter asks to Strange create a Spell to wipe the memories of people who know Peter is Spider-Man, but it comes with a terrible consequence which causes the shattering of the Multiverse releasing an infinite number of alternate universes into the main Marvel Universe.
First, I have to say this movie was incredible! From the start to finish the writing, the direction the characters, and the massive nostalgic aspects (huge callbacks to the comics and previous films) this was definitely Spider-Man’s Endgame. The film is a true arch for Peter Parker the story for this movie really grabbed the audience in with a surprisingly darker more mature tone which blew me away and it will literally catch you off-guard especially with its emotional moments that will have you teary eyed at times. The characters were amazing. Tom Holland went all out as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man he really felt like the character we all know and showed his skill portraying the character. The fight sequences with him were insane it was as if he were a character in Watchmen and that’s saying something. But the character that really got my attention was MJ portrayed by Zendaya let me tell you she did a phenomenal performance to the point where I got emotional on a few scenes she really stole the show this is definitely my favorite interpretation of the character MJ.
The villains notably the Sinister Six were incredible Will Dafoe nailed it as Goblin once again and he was incredibly terrifying. The rest of the Sinister Six definitely had some intense fighting sequences with Spider-Man, which had callbacks to certain comic storylines both the main Marvel Universe and Ultimate’s run (Stan Lee’s story arcs and Mark Miller’s).
Also, the 3rd act of this movie had the audience going wild this is definitely one of the best Spider-Man movie from Holland’s Trilogy. They brought the MCU Spider-Man back to his original roots and stayed true to it and I for one am truly satisfied. The only thing they have to work on with the MCU as a whole is the humor, which still needs to tone down. Other than that, it didn’t even matter this movie knew the assignment and did it with pure epicness. If you’re a Spider-Man fan you will love this movie. It is a love letter to fans of both the old and new trilogies. It has heart, nostalgia, and pure emotion rolled into one. Without Further ado I give Spider-Man No Way Home 10/10. Make sure to stay after the end of the movie…mind blowing!
