Mortal Kombat as You Expect It

Finish Him!
Mortal Kombat Snowblind is the 3rd animated feature of the MK Trilogy. It’s written by Jeremy Adam’s and directed by Rick Morales.
This movie takes place years after the events of Battle of The Realms. One of the main realms is now a baren wasteland ruled by the villainous Kano and his army of Black Dragons.
A new character named Kenshi attempts to end Kano’s reign, with the help of an elderly Sub Zero who’s gone into self-exile; abandoning his past as one of the most feared warriors in existence.
The story is really well written and very well paced. It sets the tone early. Letting the viewers know what kind of theme this movie has. Especially since its part of the MK animated Trilogy, you already know what you’re going to get out of it.
One of the things I liked about this movie is that it’s has Mad Max / Old Man Logan type setting, which was a genius idea for this movie.
The characters were all spot on. Kenshi was on point. He’s exactly the same as his video game counterpart. We get to see a lot of his origins story. They go in on how he becomes the warrior he is now.
Also, we get to see Kenshi go through constant struggles. That really makes you relate to the character.
I liked his partnership with Sub Zero. Speaking of Sub Zero, this character honestly stole the show. However, this version of Sub Zero is a lot more elderly and broken. Due to a past incident (won’t spoil) which causes him to go into self-exile having him live in secret as a lone farmer.
This movie is not only about Kenshi’s origin as a character but it’s also a closing chapter on Sub-Zero’s arch as well, which really helped the story even more. The villains, notably Kano and the Black Dragon organization, were ruthless.
The brutal scenes with Kano will really make you hate him, because of the atrocities he visits on innocent people in this feature.
The animation and fight scenes were incredibly well done, and the fatalities were off the wall brutal and relentless; which Mortal Kombat is known for.
The 3rd act was the most insane moment of the entire film. The wait and the anticipation were through the roof for this, especially after that insane guest appearance (No spoilers).
MK Snowblind is a huge must see and especially if you’re a huge fan of the video games. So, without further ado I give Mortal Kombat Snowblind a 10/10!
