The Huge Reveal in the Ms. Marvel Finale

We found out about what Kamala Khan really is and it was a huge surprise. In the comics she’s actually an Inhuman who was exposed to the Terrigen Mist. A chemical that causes the manifestation of Inhuman abilities; think Black Bolt who was in Multiverse of Madness, Gorgon, Medusa etc…

The Terrigen Mist was a substance created by The Kree from Terrigen Crystals, which they used to experiment on protohumans. This is the origin of Inhumans. However, in The MCU Kamala Khan is revealed to be a carrier of the X-Gene; making her the first Mutant to be introduced in Phase 4.

This is a huge turning point because there were so many ways Mutants could’ve been introduced. One of those methods was introducing the X-Gene through the Eternals movie. In the comics the Mutant Gene originated from the Celestials genetic tampering with early humanity, similar to the comics from Jack Kirby’s run on The Eternals.

Another way could’ve been through Project Rebirth which created Captain America and the organization which created the Super Soldier serum also has ties to affiliating themselves with the Weapon X Program that gave Wolverine his Adamantium.

Also, in The Ultimate Comic run the X-Gene was created from trying to recreate the Super Soldier serum and accidentally created the Mutant Gene while discovering it through Wolverines DNA making him the 1st Mutant in the Ultimate universe.

And it’s good that Marvel didn’t go the route by using the Multiverse which would’ve been a cheap way of bringing The X-Men in. They’re using the story arc of the comic origins of Mutants being the next stage in human evolution. Which is how Mutants are seen in The Marvel Universe.

Also, this is a great explanation to state how Mutants have been secretly coexisting with humanity since Phase 1, and you can tell that the MCU is slowly building up to that. I’m sure Bruno and Kamala aren’t the only ones that discovered the Mutant phenomenon.

Organizations like S.H.E.I.L.D, S.W.O.R.D, H.Y.D.R.A, A.I.M., H.A.M.M.E.R, Trask Industries (Sentinels) are picking up on This as well as Individuals that aren’t part of these organizations or superhero team’s and will most likely see Mutants as Threat to Humanities existence.

So now that the Mutants are starting to be the next intro into the upcoming Phases Marvel Studios will have a lot of stories to tell with them.
